Rebecca Lynn Cutler            In Her Own Words | Others' Words | No Words

A Tribute to Rebecca Cutler
(1974-2004)

There is so much irony in what happened to Rebecca because she signified life.

She was smart, sexy, sassy, fun, energetic and when she entered a room or an
office, she made an entrance like no one else.

My most recent experience of Rebecca’s vivacious presence and personality was
at the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel when I impressed my friend, Robert, and
many others, by seeing Rebecca and greeting her fondly. That night at the
opening of this rock star hotel, Rebecca was clearly The Rock Star of the
evening. She was totally in control: very sexy, very sophisticated, very engaging
and fun – people just wanted to know who she was no matter what other famous
stars were in the room.

I told Dick Babcock the next day that I was so proud to tell people that Rebecca
Cutler is one of our Contributing Editors and a rising star at Chicago magazine.
I was very sad to hear the news that our shining and brightest star has gone dim,
but I feel comforted to know there is a special star in heaven shining bright for
our talented and treasured Rebecca.

I miss you, Rebecca.

Sincerely,

Deborah Chapman
